Alfred Thomas was the son of Alfred Thomas and Elizabeth Bassett nee Rushton. Probably to disinguish him from his father,he was known as Thomas. He was a House Painter. Thomas served with the Royal Garrison Artillery from October 1914 until May 1918 having previously served with the North Staffordshire Regiment.
