John (Jack)was a Signalman in the Royal Navy.He lost his life when his ship, the H.M.S Anking, was sunk by Gunfire in the Indian Ocean ,South of Java, by the Japanese during the fall of Singapore on the 4th of March 1942. There were only a few survivors and unfortunately Jack was not one of them. He was 18 years old.
